Bill Gill has been a leading figure in the internal audit world for over a decade through his involvement with many professional and trade bodies. His specialism within the housing sector has lead to a dual role both as an experienced internal auditor and a multi-skilled housing consultant. He has developed an excellent mix of skills, which contribute to having a thorough and methodical approach to consultancy assignments. Bill also prides himself on breaking the perceived auditor mould and his infectious enthusiasm and love of the job create the ideal opportunities for significant cultural change.

His time on the IIA-UK and Ireland Council, the HAIAF Executive and the NHF's Audit & Control Panel has seen him contribute to the significant development of internal audit, especially in the voluntary sector.

Bill is a regular speaker at Conferences for the social housing sector and the internal audit profession. He has provided training courses directly to housing associations and other organisations.

Bill's varied career has seen him develop into a leading player within the audit field in the social housing sector. He maintains contact and interests in other sectors to enable him to bring a knowledgeable and experienced resource to client's problems. Bill's area of expertise lies within internal audit but his long standing involvement with the IIA and the housing sector has enabled him to acquire a number of specialisms. Bill is a leading risk management practitioner within the sector, providing easily understandable risk workshops and documentation. Bill is also experienced in governance issues, especially Audit Committees and regulatory issues. On the operational side Bill has an excellent grounding in many aspects of housing association work. His particular specialisms of late have been supporting people, maintenance, partnering, performance indicators and rent arrears.

The world of internal audit moves quickly and Bill ensures that he remains up to date through the Institute's CPD programme, involvement in numerous technical groups and subscribing to both technical and sector specific journals.
