So
why Leonardo?________________________________________________________
Our
corporate identity has attracted a lot
of interest, praise, and curiosity
since we launched
- largely because Leonardo da Vinci doesn't
usually occur as a metaphor for audit,
(not amongst us auditors anyway). So
we invited our marketing consultant,
Charlie Farrow to explain her thinking:
"This
identity was developed from an initial
idea that derives from the drawings of
Leonardo da Vinci, which while highly
innovative, stood the test of time, often
mellowing
into terracotta plans on parchment . Audit
is about building things too. It is a
constructive force - not the destructive
process as
popularly perceived.
Quite
apart from the fact that Bill Gill IS terra
cotta red, he's a person who charts a
project very carefully and is very precise
with
his calculations. Of course, Leonardo
wrote in mirror writing which was almost
as impenetrable
as the arcane art of the auditor! The
terracotta colour is warm , welcoming and
in touch
with the earth (as is of course, Bill)
.
The
logo itself makes interesting use of space.
It represents a furnace-like powerhouse
- a visualisation of the individual work-ethic
of the founder and which is thereby a corporate
statement.
The
words are emerging from the 'block' indicating
that thought is not constrained. BG is
clearly thinking outside of the box...."
So there
you have it from the horse's mouth and
Charlie calls audit an arcane art!
